The temple is located in the Paro valley and is considered a sacred site in Bhutan, as it is believed to be the place where the founder of Buddhism in Bhutan, Guru Rinpoche, meditated in the 8th century.

There are many different ways to reach Tiger’s Nest but the most popular is an easy hike from Jhongling village. The trek takes roughly two hours and climbs 500 feet up a steep trail that runs through dense jungles and past water falls. At the end, you’ll find yourself overlooking another amazing view with Bumthang’s Himalayan mountains as patches of clouds moving past them. This is a great place for relaxing and enjoying nature.
